Set in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, close to Birmingham City centre, Woodbourne Priory Hospital is set in beautiful grounds, conveniently located for access to the West Midlands motorway network and with good local public transport links.

 

Our unique range of services gives our colleagues the opportunity to develop skills and experience of working with a broad range of mental health conditions across five mental health service lines, across the hospital’s seven wards.

 

The hospital provides a diverse range of inpatient services, including acute and psychiatric intensive care, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, specialist Eating Disorder and private acute and addictions treatment programmes.  Our multi-disciplinary teams deliver personalised treatment programmes to our patients and have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care.

 

Priory Woodbourne are recruiting for a full time Head Chef / Head Cook to join their catering team.

 

In this role you will manage the provision of a catering service within a Priory Woodbourne with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation and cooking of meals through a team of staff.

In this role your key accountabilities will be;

  • Manages staff and procedures to ensure the efficient delivery of all aspects of food preparation and cooking, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the unit. The role holder will need to be actively involved in the preparation and cooking, as well as managing the work of others, ensuring operational standards comply with the company’s ‘Assured Safe Catering policies’ and guidelines.
  • Supervises, develops and motivates a small team of catering staff at all levels, ensuring compliance with safety legislation and Priory policies in all catering operational areas.
  • Manages stock ordering and rotation in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Alongside clinical colleagues, researches and creates new menus for the unit, taking account of healthy eating guidelines and any needs that particular patient/pupil groups may have.
  • Responsible for the managing the food budget within Priory standards, taking account of cost per cover calculations, as well as ensuring best value and quality of ingredients.
