Job Advert Location Description

Priory North London is seeking a highly motivated Ward Administrator to work within our Acute Adult Unit & CAMHS unit.

Responsibilities: The post holder will be expected to provide clerical, administrative and information technology support to medical, nursing and other staff in relation to the patients being cared for within the Unit. Primarily you will be based within the ward area. The post holder will also be required to cover breaks for the receptionist. You will have a flexible approach to your working practice and be able to work to deadlines.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining patient files and notes, including the filing of all patient information in a timely and efficient manner. As well as collating reports, formatting letters you will also be responsible for emailing documentation to external and internal professionals adhering to GDPR requirements.   

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Organises and prioritises own work within established procedures, but refers more complex issues when necessary to the appropriate manager.
  • Work within existing procedures and processes; and adopt a flexible approach to problem solving.
  • IT Skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint - Advance
  • Effective communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • High standard of personal presentation
  • Clear speech and a friendly, warm telephone manner
  • Approachable and personable nature, and an ability to stay calm in a high pressure environment.
  • Sense of urgency, with the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to demands and prioritising workload accordingly.
  • Responsible for the security, confidentiality and accuracy of data, information and systems.

Desirable: At least one year experience of working within a mental health/ healthcare setting.
