We are a small hospital comprising of four wards; two medium secure (male only patients), one low secure (male only patients) and one acute ward (mixed sex-six male and six female patients). Priory Hospital Enfield is situated close to Central London with excellent transport links with easy access to the M25 and surrounding Home Counties.

As a nurse joining our hospital, you will have the opportunity to build on your skills in either and acute or a forensic setting. You will be joining a team of highly skilled professionals who delivery some of the very best care to patients in the country. The team works very closely together and you will be provided with support from colleagues and managers to develop yourself further in a career or speciality which you determine.

The hospital has monthly CPD events which you are always welcome to attend to further your knowledge and development and if you have a speciality you like to share with others then there will be opportunities for you to share your knowledge.

The hospital has a friendly atmosphere wherever you go and the team are always welcoming. The hospital has undergone recent refurbishments to improve the quality of the environment for staff and patients and we are always pushing to develop the environment further to make it an enjoyable place to work.

We have recently been inspected by the Quality Network team and this provided some very positive feedback around patient care, staff attitudes and the positive relationships that have been built between staff and patients. The hospital has also recently been inspected by the European Council for the prevention of torture which again was very complimentary about the attitude of staff, patients provided excellent feedback about the staff and the service provided and the “thorough and detailed” care plans and treatment pathways on offer at site.

Responsibilities of the post include:

  • Delivering the very best care and treatment to patients by managing the assessment, implementation and evaluation of individual patient care plans while promoting a professional working environment to ensure a high standard of patient care.
  • Working with our patients to ensure care and treatment plans are being followed and patients are working towards their recovery goals.
  • Ensure effective communication of any concerns relating to patient care.
  • Working as part of the nursing team to maintain patient safety by regularly reviewing risks during the shift.
  • Work as a Keyworker to patients-this includes working closely with them to complete risk assessments, care plans, reports for tribunals and CPAs and supporting them in their meetings with the rest of the MDT.
  • Administering medication appropriately and in accordance with Priory policy and NMC guidelines.
  • Undertaking a supervisory role to junior staff
  • Completing mentorship training (if you don’t already have a qualification) and supporting students during placements.
