Job Advert Role Description

The Vines specialist residential unit comprising of 12 individual bedrooms and 2 self contained flats, which provides a step-down service for individuals who have suffered progressive neurological conditions or an acquired brain injury and we are a mid to long term placement.

The Vines is a warm and friendly home which aims to promote independence and to support each resident to achieve their goals and to maintain their independence as best as possible and for as long as possible. The Vines is located in the small town of Crowborough, East Sussex with close proximity to Royal Tunbridge Wells, the Sussex Coast and the Ashdown Forrest.

Our residents are provided with numerous opportunities to access the wider community including specialised swimming sessions, bowling, memory cafes, cinemas and choirs with the intention of supporting our resident to rehabilitate and live fulfilled lives. We're looking for people to join our team who wish to continue this work for residents such as one of the people below…

Prior to their brain injury one of our service users travelled and lived around the world as part of his job. When our cooking club, Theme Night Thursday’s was introduced, they showed a clear interest and passion for other cultures. This resident had previously been reserved and keen to spend time in their bedroom. The resident became a regular and assisted in chopping the vegetables for our theme night, with the aim that this would help improve his fine motor skills as part of his neuro-rehabilitation.

At the Vines, we provide 24 /7 support to all individuals by offering a flexible and responsive approach to our residents’ care. We celebrate and support what the individuals are able to do, when they are able to do so, whilst preparing for ways they can continue to excel as their condition progresses. Staff’s talent is developed and training provided to ensure that they can support those we care for.

We are looking for someone who is kind caring and compassionate and can work with the residents in a group or individually.

You will need to be able to do the following:

  • Devise and create the home activities timetable and personalised activities plan for all residents.
  • Daily plan/Lead activities on and off site
  • Carry out and review risk assessments for all activities
  • Ensure regular review of timetables to ensure that these meet the residents needs.
  • Build good community links and build partnerships with external  professionals/companies to support individuals rehabilitation goals.
  • Purchasing and ordering of activities supplies ensure all stock is regularly replenished.
  • Preferably a driver to facilitate trips of site.
  • A keen and enthusiastic individual with a can do attitude
What we’d like to give you:
  • A competitive salary
  • Enhanced disclosure cost coverage
  • Comprehensive induction and commitment to ongoing training
  • 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
  • Online benefits and cashback rewards
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Pension options
