About the Job

An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Director of Clinical Services to work in an exceptional hospital based in the Ayr, South Ayrshire. This hospital provides acute adult mental health services within a low Secure Service, for patients with personality disorders.

As the Director of Clinical Services (DoCS), you will be part of the Senior Management Team and working for one of UK’s leading health care providers. The DoCS will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills, manage a team of ward managers, empowering them with strong leadership, skills and adequate resources for them to do their job. Manager Recruitment, Retention and Reward for all Clinical Staff. The DoCS will have excellent knowledge of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.

Duties to include

Will play a key part in developing and delivering the hospital’s quality strategies, providing operational and clinical leadership to the team.
Oversee the management of nursing resources across Ayr Clinic including out of hours on call arrangements are Controlled
Play a key part in developing a nursing strategy for the 3 low secure wards of the Ayr Clinic and providing operational leadership to the Ward Managers
Implementation of quality improvement and monitoring systems for nurse the Bank Service
Ensure delivery of the highest level of clinical and therapeutic care together with ensuring compliance with regulations and current legislation, meeting quality standards and delivering against quality performance indicators
Provide professional nursing advice on quality governance issues to nursing staff at site, promoting high standards of care and development of clinical practice.
Facilitate compliance with the company incident and serious incident policy and support staff in the investigation of serious incidents in line with company policy.
Support wards to prepare for Regulatory body inspections and Internal Benchmarking and Health and Safety inspections.
Ensure all contractual quality elements are met, working with respective service lines including reporting of the same.
As part of the Senior Management, team will carry out on-call duties as directed by the Hospital Director.
Contributes to the development of Priory policies, procedures, processes and initiatives


This is an exciting and dynamic role for a Director of Clinical Services within our Ayr Clinic and to have the opportunity to join our team and help shape and develop the service model for the future.

The successful Candidate will receive an excellent salary of £52,000 per annum.
