Job Advert Location Description

Situated within three acres of landscaped grounds, Priory Hospital Chelmsford is an independent hospital that specialises in the treatment and management of adults and adolescents with a range of mental health problems.  There is a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which include consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and therapists.

The hospital offers calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 60 service users, as well as day care and outpatient services, including separate facilities for young people.

We provide expert treatment for the following services:
•             Eating disorders
•             Child and Adolescent Mental Health
•             Addiction services

Our highly experienced multidisciplinary team deliver personalised treatment programmes alongside the use of a wide range of therapies.  

Job Advert Role Description

We are looking to recruit a personable, flexible and motivated Medical Secretary to support within Priory Chelmsford, and provide efficient and effective secretarial support to an individual or a department. The role holder should be educated to GCSE (Grades A-C) or equivalent standard and should possess excellent keyboard skills and an intermediate level of proficiency for the standard range of office applications. An understanding of medical terminology is desirable along with a recognised medical secretarial qualification. The role will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday and you will be reporting to the Senior Management Team. You will use several different systems within The Priory Hospital Chelmsford, and duties will include letter typing, answering phone calls, clinic organisation, minute taking, appointment making and dictations.

Currently, in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act you are required to be double vaccinated against Covid-19 and to provide evidence of this before you are able to commence employment with us, or provide a valid medical exemption.  Albeit this still remains the case, the Government has recently announced their intention to reconsider this under the Health and Social Care Act.  Therefore, you are invited to submit your application, with the understanding that should the current position be repealed your application would be progressed in line with Priory’s recruitment policy. Any changes to legislation will be reflected in our recruitment policy.
